"The Weekly Dish" January 4, 2013

Aloha friends!

We hope everyone is starting off 2013 on a good note.

We here at "The Weekly Dish" radio show are looking forward to serving the community again this year, and we would like to thank KAOI, Maui Weekly and all those that have supported the radio show and our mission to deliver a delightful recipe of Maui's community and entertainment news.  ;-)

Thanks to our special studio guests on Jan. 4's show, Sara Tekula and Katie McMillian of TEDx Maui. And, of course, lil Henry Koa! Sara's son was our first baby on the air at KAOI for The Weekly Dish. What a doll!

Sara, Katie and their extraordinary TEDx Maui team have been working hard for over 11 months on Jan. 13's big event at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Learn more by listening to the show via the link here, and on Facebook via https://www.facebook.com/events/226243374174533 or on www.tedxmaui.com.

The special presenters this year are listed on http://tedxmaui.com/2013-presenters/, and we're so stoked for visionary artist Alex Grey and Maui's musical whiz kid, violinist WenLu Duffy.

Tickets are going fast, so don't delay!

Sara and Katie will be back in the studio on Friday, Jan. 11, for a final talk story about the innovative and inspirational annual experience.

The BrownChicken Brown Cow String Band train stopped by again, and we heard some exclusive live tunes. You can still catch them on Maui at Charley's on  Jan. 11 and 12, and then again at Fleetwood's on Front on Jan. 19. Visit www.brownchickentrain.com.

We're stoked to welcome a new business to our Maui 'ohana: Manoli's Bar & Lounge, an extension of Manoli's Pizza Co. located just up the hill from the Shops at Wailea.

The 1,300-square-foot bar is almost complete and ready to rock Wailea. Stay tuned!!

For now, do yourself a favor and gather the 'ohana for dinner at Manoli's family restaurant. Tropical breezes and Italian aromas--is there anything better? ;-)

Aside from the exquisite sunset views and excellent service you'll experience, Manoli's beautifully-crafted cuisine is dynamite.

Their menu is made up of fresh, organic, and sustainable products whenever possible in all of their pizzas, salads, and specials. They even have gluten-free pizza! Check out their ono organic list of vinos, too.

Discover the latest from revered restauranteur Aaron Placourakis, and visit www.manolispizzacompany.com.

Check out the fliers below for the scoop on what else we covered, and make sure to visit www.mauiweekly.com to keep up with your community.

Peace, love and happiness!

A hui hou,

Trish  :o)

Enjoy a listen of the show!!!
